VICTORIA, BC — Mayor Dean Fortin will be travelling to Seattle on Monday, June 21, 2010 to meet with the Mayor of Seattle, Mike McGinn.

“This is a good opportunity to build relationships with the City of Seattle,” said Mayor Fortin. “Our two communities face similar challenges and share key industries. I think we can learn a lot from each other and explore opportunities to work together.”

While in Seattle, Mayor Fortin will also meet with the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the Seattle / King County Coalition on Homelessness, and the Committee to End Homelessness. Mayor Fortin will be joined by John Juricic, past president of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, and current director of the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
